During Monday's matinee against the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs play-by-play announcer Joe Bowen called the second period alongside his son David.

Perhaps the most iconic voice in the Toronto sports scene, Joe Bowen, the legendary play-by-play announcer for the Toronto Maple Leafs, shared a very special moment with his son during Monday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

Alongside Jim Ralph, Joe and David stood together in their infamous booth and called the second period of today's contest, as reported by Nick Barden of The Hockey News.

David has taken to the family business as he is the current play-by-play announcer for the Sudbury Wolves of the OHL. Funny enough, Joe joined him for a broadcast in November, when he stepped in and did the colour commentary for a Wolves game. It looks like David returned the favour on Monday with his cameo appearance.

As for Joe, the veteran voice for the Maple Leafs has been around in some capacity since 1982. He's done everything you can imagine between radio, TV, nationally broadcast games, and regional telecasts. Currently, Bowen and Ralph call games on the radio for TSN and Sportsnet this season.

There was some doubt heading into the 2024-25 campaign if he would be returning for another year, but the 73-year-old took to his Twitter during the summer to let the fan base know he was indeed returning.

"Not going anywhere!!! Ralphie and I are back in October!!" Bowen wrote on X.

Leafs Nation was thrilled to hear the news and we're also thrilled to see his son, David, continuing to make a name for himself as a colour commentator. Maybe one day he'll be calling games for the Leafs, just like his old man.
