The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in overtime on Sunday, thanks to some heroics from Morgan Rielly, and now the Maple Leafs are set for another crack at the Flyers as the teams will play again in the second stage of a home and home series in Philly.
Thanks to the win, the Leafs stand at an impressive 26-13-2 record this season, and will be looking to add another W in the win column tonight.
Dennis Hildeby had a solid performance in the win on Sunday, making 30 saves. His strong outing earned the respect of head coach Craig Berube and helped solidify his role as the backup until Anthony Stolarz returns from injury.
It seems as though the Maple Leafs have made their decision on who will start tonight, and it's no surprise that Joseph Woll will be getting the nod for this one after winning his last 4 starts.
As per David Alter on X:
Woll's recent strong play has firmly established him as the starting goalie for the Maple Leafs, at least until Stolarz is back. His performances have been particularly strong of late, earning praise from former Flyers goalie Brian Boucher, who called Woll one of the league's brightest future stars.
Woll currently boasts an impressive 13-6-0 record, to go along with a save percentage of 0.914 and a 2.48 GAA.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will aim to keep their momentum going as they look to extend their lead over the Panthers in the Atlantic Division tonight, with Joseph Woll leading the charge in net against Philly.
