The Maple Leafs return to action after Saturday night's shootout win over the Vancouver Canucks. They will host the Columbus Blue Jackets tonight, who beat the Leafs 4-2 in Columbus about three weeks ago.
Curtis McElhinney took the loss against the Blue Jackets in that game, but he will be watching from the bench tonight as Frederik Andersen gets the start.
Travis Dermott will remain in the lineup tonight, but he will move from his natural left side to the right side next to Jake Gardiner.
«We think he is a good player, let's get him in the lineup to play,» head coach Mike Babcock said after today's morning skate, per the Toronto Sun. «We're going to find out whether he can play or not over time. We will keep watching and see what happens.
«In an ideal world, he would be a right-hand shot and he would be on the team all year.»
Frederik Gauthier will continue to get a look at fourth-line center as Josh Leivo and Dominic Moore remain out of the lineup.
The Maple Leafs enter tonight's game with a 1-4-0 record against the Blue Jackets in their last five games, with their last win coming back in 2015.
