Those who watch Maple Leafs games from home or attend in person with any sort of regularity would be very familiar with the voice of Mike Ross, who runs the PA booth at Scotiabank Arena, making all of the announcements for each home game and throwing down to the National Anthem singer before puck drop each night.
Ross was heading into this summer with no contract in hand for the 2024-25 season, and while many felt that a contract was simply a formality at this point, you'll be happy to hear that Ross and the Maple Leafs have reached a pact that will see him return to the booth again this season.
Ross shared the following message with fans to confirm the news:
Those who have become accustomed to hearing Ross each and every night will be thrilled and excited to know that he'll be the one announcing Auston Matthews as the 26th captain in Maple Leafs franchise history ahead of the team's home opener on October 5th when they welcome the Detroit Red Wings to town.
