Maple Leafs prospect Noah Chadwick was named captain of his WHL team the Lethbridge Hurricanes and has since revealed what it means to him.

Yesterday, Chadwick, the Leafs' 2023 sixth-round pick, was named captain of the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Chadwick becomes the 32nd captain in franchise history. He has since revealed what being entrusted to wear the "C" means to him as he looks to build on a breakout 56-point campaign last season.

"I'm super honored and it's a privilege to be named the captain of the Hurricanes and it's something that I'm not going to take lightly. To be able to take over from a great captain in Joe [Arntsen] is an honor," Chadwick explained. "I bring a lot of different aspects to the role than him, but he's a fantastic leader and he helped shape me and he showed what it means to be the captain."

The 19-year-old has quickly and unexpectedly become one of the top defensive prospects in the Leafs' organization and the team recognized that last season when they signed him to a 3-year, entry-level contract in December.

Chadwick's play with Lethbridge last season saw him earn a one-game audition with the Toronto Marlies at the end of last season gaining some valuable pro experience. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native will look to gain more pro experience when he joins Maple Leafs training camp slated to begin in a few weeks time.
