After a flying start to the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have hit a roadblock. The team was ripping through the league putting up goals left and right, but have gone dry over the last two games. With 16 points in his first seven games to start the season, Leafs' superstar Auston Matthews hasn't found the score sheet in the last two games. The Leafs forward believes the team has become a bit too predictable and adjustments need to be made."I think it starts with not only working harder but working smarter, I think sometimes we're a bit too predictable, you do the same things over and over again and teams watch video so you gotta mix it up and change it up whether it be off of face offs or the neutral zone, you just cant keep doing the same thing over and over again.
When you have the start the Leafs' had, combined with the talent on the team, it can become psychological as well. "Obviously when the pucks not going in, especially as a team it gets frustrating and especially with the talent on this team"
What do the Leafs need to do to get back on track?"I think just being available as a five man unit everybody getting into spots so our d or forwards have some options. It's not about doing the same thing every time but it makes it a lot easier getting back into those spots."
