Weeks of negotiations and deliberation finally came to an end Sunday afternoon when the Leafs and Max Domi agreed on a 4-year extension that will see the 29-year-old earn $3.75M per season. It's quite the deal for both sides as Domi gets the security he wanted in term and the Leafs get him signed for only $750K more than what he earned on his one-year deal last season.
With the deal complete, Domi took to "X" to share his excitement in returning to the Leafs using an infamous Wolf on Wall Street' clip with his his own face edited over Leo DiCaprio's.
Domi may have struggled the first half of the season with the Leafs, but had a very good second half, finishing with 9 goals, 47 points and 118 penalty minutes in 80 games. Able to play the wing and in the middle of the ice, Domi's return gives new head coach Craig Berube some additional options in how he chooses to set up his forward lines.
