Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Frederik Andersen has been a pretty solid acquisition for the Leafs. While he hasn't exactly had the best defensive play in front of him, he's been able to keep the Leafs in the hunt for the last couple of seasons. Since arriving in Toronto, Andersen has registered a combined 2.75 goals against average and .918 save percentage. The team has made the playoffs in all three of Andersen's seasons here where he's put up 3.04 goals against average and .911 save percentage. Craig Custance of the Athletic spoke to GM's and goalie coaches across the league to rank the NHL's goalies. One goalie really appreciates the work Andersen has done in Toronto. «I like Freddy,» said a goalie coach. «He plays on a team with a pretty average defense. He's got great athleticism, is one of the best puck handling goalies in the league. He sees more shots than guys more than Vasilevskiy for sure. He has to be great. He's a workhorse. He's really good in the shootout. I actually think he's a top three." What do you think of these comments?
