The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas we're pretty quiet on the trade front yesterday during the deadline. Dubas decided to roll the dice on forward Nic Petan as a low risk move as he had already acquired Jake Muzzin in a bigger deal this year. According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, the Leafs were trying to make a push for Wayne Simmonds. The road block in the deal was the Flyers general manger Chuck Fletcher absolutely wanted a roster player in return. "Dubas didn't because he knew that he wasn't going to give Chuck Fletcher a roster player, and that was a big deal to Chuck Fletcher and the Flyers. They wanted a roster player, and they end up getting that in Hartman." It's hard to imagine what a comparable for the Leafs would have been with Hartman, Connor Brown maybe?Do you think Dubas did the right thing?
