Past and Present Leafs Unite for Very Special Occasion
A group of past and current Maple Leafs gathered together for a special occasion this past week.
Summer is much more than a hot beach, a tan and much needed relaxation. It's also wedding season! Former Leaf Pierre Engvall celebrated his wedding to Matilda Von Sicard on Saturday. Leafs past and present like Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren were in attendance. Carl Dalhstrom and Erik Kallgren were also there to celebrate the big day.
It's nice to see that so much of our Swedish contingent remains close off the ice. Engvall and Sandin are both locked up long term in Long Island and Washington, respectively. Dahlstrom will playing in the Swiss League this year and Kallgren will join Brynas IF in the Swedish Hockey League this fall after floating around in the minors. Only Liljegren currently remains with the Leafs after signing a two-year $6 million contract extension ($3 million AAV) on June 30th.
It's also nice to see Liljegren let loose and dance around a bit instead of looking like the mechanic at that dodgy auto-repair shop always asking for $200 parts plus labour in all his photos.
