The Toronto Maple Leafs and general manager Kyle Dubas are in a tough position this summer. Aside from Morgan Rielly, the Leafs don't have any top line defenseman signed for next year. Tyson Barrie, Jake Muzzin and Cody Ceci are all eligible to become UFA's in the summer. With only $13million in cap space available and just 12 players signed, it's unlikely the Leafs can keep all three but it seems that Dubas has figured out who he'd like to keep around. According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, the Leafs and Jake Muzzin are kicking the tires on a possible contract extension. Muzzin will be 31 when he signs his next contract and is coming off a five year deal that saw him get paid $20million in total. Here's an excerpt from Friedman's blurb on Muzzin:"No confirmation from either side, but it sounds like there is engagement in contract conversations with Muzzin. There's no debate about his value and unique skillset on this roster. Term is as big as the salary, as Muzzin will be 31 next month." What kind of a deal do you think Leafs' can sign Muzzin to?
