The Toronto Maple Leafs have no love lost for either the Oilers or the Panthers, but it looks like they're backing one over the other in the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Leafs have had some past issues with both organizations. The Oilers have famously outbid the Leafs for more than a few of their own free agents, including Zach Hyman back in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Leafs and Panthers, being heated division rivals in the Atlantic Division certainly isn't earning the Cats any additional support from the Buds.

Thanks to some recent social media activity, though, it would appear as though the Leafs may be leaning towards the Oilers in this series. The Leafs retweeted a post from the NHL's official PR team regarding tonight's all-important Game 2 between the Oilers and Panthers with Florida up 1-0 in the series.

The post led off by stating that the Oilers were looking to knot up the series at 1 game apiece, before later mentioning that the Panthers were attempting to move closer to the Cup than they ever have before.

Is it reading a little too much into things? Maybe, but it makes far more sense that the Leafs would be rooting for the Oilers to bring the Cup back to Canada than to watch the Panthers hoist hockey's greatest prize, being a division rival.

Obviously, with the history that exists between the Maple Leafs and Zach Hyman, how could they not want to see him win?

Also, the Leafs could also be in another Toronto native's corner as Connor McDavid is also on the hunt for his first Cup.
