It was concerning enough when earlier today it was announced that Joseph Woll would not be in the lineup for tonight's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Canadiens. Now, things have gotten worse after the latest update on the goaltender's status.
Anthony Stolarz will get the start tonight for the Toronto Maple Leafs as Joseph Woll deals with "lower body tightness."
There was some hope that Woll would be able to at least be on the bench for Thursday's game against the New Jersey Devils, but that's been dashed by a report from David Alter of the Hockey News, which states Woll has been placed on injured reserve and will miss Toronto's first three games at the very least.
The news is causing even more concerned for an already tense fan base. Joseph Woll, who just recently signed a new three-year contract with the Maple Leafs , is getting a reputation for being injured a lot.
Dennis Hildeby was called up on an emergency basis by the Toronto Maple Leafs earlier today to act as backup for Anthony Stolarz. Depending on the severity of Woll's lower body injury, Hildeby just might be called upon to make his first ever NHL start.
