July 1st was a very eventful day for the Leafs as they signed several quality veteran players to bolster the blue line and solidify their goaltending. As it turns out, a few of these veteran players are on the cusp of some huge career accomplishments as well.
Chris Tanev is just 8 games away from playing his 800th, an achievement he'll reach (barring injury) on October 24th when Toronto plays the St. Louis Blues at home. The Toronto native is also just 10 points away from his 200th career point.
Stanley Cup champion Oliver Ekman-Larsson is just 18 games away from playing his 1000th and 29 points away from 500. Expect to see him earn that silver stick ceremony this November. With the scoring talent the Leafs have upfront, if Ekman-Larsson sees any power play time in Toronto, he'll certainly reach 500 points this season as well.
As for Anthony Stolarz, while he may start in the 1B role behind Joseph Woll, he is only 7 wins away from 50 career wins in the NHL. With Woll's injury history, we could potentially see Stolarz hit his milestone very early on in the season if Woll is unable to stay healthy.
These are just a few milestones we'll all get to witness, starting this fall and it excludes other milestones that will be reached by the existing group in Toronto as well.
The Leafs are rumoured to still be perusing the trade market in search of additional upgrades, so we may have another name or two to add to this list before all is said and done this summer.
