Update on Evander Kane's gruesome injury
Earlier tonight, Evander Kane got tangled up with Lightning defenseman Philippe Meyers, which led to Pat Maroon inadvertently tripped over Kane, accidentally clipping his exposed wrist with his skate, causing a terrifying, deep wrist laceration.
Kane immediately skated to the bench where he was met by the trainer. As he was rushed to the dressing room for medical attention, shouts for help were heard outside of the room.
The Oilers provided an update on Kane post-game, confirming a deep wrist laceration and stating that he was stabilized and went to the hospital. Kane will have surgery on his wrist and will be okay.
If you recall, Ilya Mikheyev suffered a similar injury a few seasons ago and missed months while recovering. The good news at least is that Kane is alright and in stable condition.
