As we get closer to the December 1st deadline, trade chatter regarding Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander keeps picking up. If Nylander doesn't sign a contract before December 1st, the forward won't be eligible to play in the 2018-19 season. As a restricted free agent, Nylander is allowed to freely speak to other teams trying to work out a sign and trade scenario if he believes his future isn't in Toronto. The main team that has been attached to Nylander so far has been the Carolina Hurricanes, however NHL insider Darren Dreger has labelled a Western Conference team as having strong interest in the young forward. According to Dreger, the Vegas Golden Knights have shown strong interest in Nylander and have the salary cap space to offer him what he wants. While plenty of teams have interest for Nylander, is unwillingness to budge from the $7.5million to $8million a season price tag really narrows his options down to only a few, one of them being Vegas. It's hard to imagine what the Golden Knights would offer in return, but one thing is for sure, while Vegas might have the salary cap space moving forward, they don't have it this season with only $5.75 available so they would have to send something back.
