Former Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Frederik Andersen continues to struggle in elimination games after giving up yet another very costly, weak goal.

The Carolina Hurricanes were less than a period away from forcing a Game 7 against the New York Rangers as they were leading 3-1 in the third period. Then, as Leaf fans know all too well, Andersen let in a deflating goal that swung momentum in the Rangers' favour.

As you can see, Chris Kreider poked the loose puck past Andersen as his skate came off the post. The goal had Leaf fans saying, "Ahhh there's the Fred we know." Once again, Andersen failed to deliver in a must-win game, giving up 3 goals in the third and allowing 4 goals on 23 shots for a dismal .826 save percentage.

It's unfortunate for Andersen, who played extremely well for the Canes after returning from a career and life threatening blood clotting issue to have his worst game of the season in an elimination game.

Andersen still has one year left on his current deal that will see him earn $3.4M next season, however his future remains unclear as the Hurricanes tend to make drastic changes and there are a number of teams searching for a veteran goaltender.
