Former Toronto Maple Leaf pest Michael Bunting tied the knot this past weekend in Toronto, to his long time partner Jordan McDonnell.
There were a few former and present faces from the Maple Leafs' organization in attendance at the Scarborough native's special celebration.
As per Michael Bunting's Instagram stories:
Former Maple Leafs Scouting Director and newest Penguins Staff: Wes Clark
Mitch Marner's wife: Steph Marner
T.J. Brodie's wife: Amber Brodie
The gritty winger had a marvellous stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins after he was traded by the Carolina Hurricanes at the deadline last season. Bunting put up 19 points in 21 GP post-trade with the Penguins, predominately riding shotgun with superstar pivot Sidney Crosby.
Bunting also reunited with former Leafs GM Kyle Dubas, which is not surprising at all as Dubas has made it very well known during his tenure in the NHL that he loves his former Soo Greyhounds guys. The truth is, if Dubas did not give Bunting a shot with the Maple Leafs top line that included Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner in 2021-22, who knows how Bunting's career would have ended up?
With Bunting signed at a $4.5M cap hit for the next 2 seasons, he will be looked at to be a big contributor for an underwhelming Penguins offence.
Congrats to Bunts on his wedding and all the best to him next season.
