Last week, rumours surfaced that Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds was interested in purchasing the Ottawa Senators. Reynolds has become quite the investor in recent years purchasing stakes in Mint Mobile, Wrexham AFC, Aviation American Gin, WealthSimple, and most recently Fubo TV - so it is no stretch for him to purchase a stake in the Ottawa Senators.

Reynolds was on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon last night and confirmed the rumours that he was indeed interested in purchasing the Sens. Reynolds confirmed it using his ever-popular sense of humour saying, "I need a partner with really deep pockets. I have to form a consortium to buy the Senators, which is a fancy way of saying I need a sugar mommy or a sugar daddy."

One of the stipulations instituted by the Senators and the NHL is that the team remain in Canada - something that Reynolds will have no issue with given that he is Canadian and actually lived near Ottawa for a number of years. Of course, his purchase of the Sens would only happen if he and his partners are able to provide the best financial support and overall bid for the team as reports have indicated that there are no less than three other investors that are looking to place a bid.
