Every NHL, I'm sure, has a moment that stands out above all the rest for them. For those who were lucky enough to secure a Stanley Cup in their careers, I'm certain that their most memorable moment has something to do with winning the Cup. For others, it might be their NHL debut, a big goal, or even their first hat trick.

Auston Matthews was a guest on the Pat McAfee Show show this week and when he was asked what his most memorable moment was. Unsurprisingly, it was a combination of all of the above. Matthews had stated that his first game was a particularly memorable one for he and his family. As you'll recall, Matthews scored 4 goals in his NHL debut against the Ottawa Senators.

"It's tough. Like.. I mean, my first game, I scored 4 goals, so that was a pretty good 'welcome to the league' moment. So that was pretty special. That was my first game, so it was awesome. I had my parents there and my mom was like crying in the stands. Just a super emotional game for, I guess, everybody, but I'd have to put that [one up there]. It was a pretty good night"

Matthews has already had a number of milestone games in his career as well, so there were certainly some pretty incredible moments to choose from. As they say, though, you never forget your first - and for Matthews, the first game, goal, hat trick and 4-goal night all happened on the same night, so it's no surprise that that's the moment that stands out above all the rest.
