Bunting under fire for alleged kicking incident
Leave it to Bruins fans to find a way to be outraged over officiating even after years of benefitting from it. According to a large contingent of their fanbase, Ullmark's stick throw, Marchand's never ending crosschecks and the multitude of cheap shots from the rest of the Bruins roster all pale in comparison to the disgusting, borderline criminal behaviour of one Michael Bunting.
Video of an on ice incident between Bunting and Bruins forward Trent Frederic is making the rounds on Twitter, with Bruins fans accusing Bunting of attempting to kick Frederic, which was really more of an off-balance shove/knee. Frederic retaliated with one heck of a two hand slash and both players were sent off for 2 minutes.
Displaying a lack of self awareness only Bostonians can, Bruins fans immediately went completely off the rails. Not only are they calling for Bunting to be suspended, they are also claiming the referees are out to help the Maple Leafs. Truly hilarious stuff!
It's obvious to anyone with a functioning pair of eyes and the brain power to process what they're seeing that Bunting was attempting to shove Frederic and simply got off balance. Bunting has no history of anything truly dangerous at all, like a deliberate kick would have been. In fact, Bunting isn't even a physical player really. He's always talking, and constantly in scrums, but during play he doesn't throw his weight around much. He's definitely not close to the level of despicable that Brad Marchand operates on, and Trent Frederic is certainly well-versed in physical play and can more than handle himself. I doubt anything will come of this, it's highly doubtful the DoPS even looks at it. It's just another fantastic example of Bruins fans filling their diapers and having no idea how good they have it when it comes to officiating.
