Insider reveals that MLSE may have tabled an offer to Kyle Dubas
It's been a week since the Leafs' playoff berth came to an end after falling short in Game 5 against the Florida Panthers, and there are still numerous topics that are up in the air regarding the team's coaching and management staff. It's likely fans will see the departure of assistant coach Spencer Carbery as teams looking to fill a head coach position have been granted permission to speak to him. However, any news regarding Sheldon Keefe and Kyle Dubas is still a big question mark.
Regarding Dubas, who reportedly put a hold on contract talks earlier this week, it seems MLSE may have already left him an offer on the table:
If an offer was presented to Dubas, one can only wonder what it might look like and whether or not he's considering it. But also, as pointed out in the tweets above, how long will MLSE wait for a decision to be made before moving forward without their GM? There are a laundry list of things that the team will need to sort out this summer, and I'm sure they want to get a running start at it.
I suppose the good news here is that we now know where MLSE stands with regard to Kyle Dubas. If they did, in fact, table an offer, then it means they want the young GM back for the foreseeable future. Though, I suppose we won't know more until Brendan Shanahan finally addresses the media.
