One of the more interesting names in Toronto in the bottom six is David Kampf, who was brought in a pair of summers ago as a defensive specialist, a a strong faceoff option and a quality penalty killer. We haven't heard much about Kampf with the bulk of the focus right now being on Auston Matthews, William Nylander and what Brad Treliving plans to do with Sheldon Keefe.
On Thursday edition of Leafs Morning Take, host Nick Alberga had Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli on the show and when it came time to talk about some of the UFAs in Toronto, Seravalli had a very interesting take on what might happen with Kampf this summer.
I'm sure the Leafs would love to retain Kampf if the money makes sense, but he'll almost certainly be looking for a raise over the $1.5M he made in each of the last two seasons. Add to that the fact that Brad Treliving has already spoken about building a bottom six with a real identity and the writing may already be on the wall for Kampf in Toronto, as the Leafs seek some change this summer.
