Well, now Gaudreau has fans on both sides upset after he showed up to a charity hockey game in Philadelphia wearing Calgary Flames gear.
Obviously, Flames fans aren't too thrilled to see Gaudreau donning his Flames pants and helmet, while Blue Jackets fans aren't enjoying the fact that he's doing the same.
When a goalie trade happens mid-season or at the trade deadline, sometimes we'll see them show up and have to play games with their usual pads or helmet, but typically after a week or two, they have new gear that matches the colour scheme of their new club. For players, it's far less of a forgivable offense to continue to don the colours and logo of the team you left on your own terms after speaking publicly about how much you want to remain there.
From a Blue Jackets fan's perspective, it's probably a more forgivable offense in that Gaudreau may have not yet received his gear from the team since training camp is still a month away. Still, for a player of Gaudreau's wealth and stature, I'm sure he could have visited any local sports retailer and picked up some black pants and a helmet.
