On Monday night, Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov was pulled for the second straight game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The first time he was pulled, back on October 21st, he gave up 3 goals on 4 shots. This time around, he gave up 4 goals on 12 shots. In both instances, Joseph Woll came in and flipped the script for the Leafs, who mounted multi-goal comeback wins in both games.

Following Monday's game, Auston Matthews was asked about the effect Woll had on the team coming in.

"He calmed everything down for us." - Matthews on Woll

While the Leafs have faith in Woll being able to bail them out of tough situations, he has just as much confidence in them being able to bail themselves out.

"I have all the faith in the world in this team to come back," said Woll following another outstanding relief performance Monday night

There will be no relief performance for Woll tonight against the Ottawa Senators however as he will get the start. Meanwhile, Ilya Samsonov spent time with the coaching staff trying to rediscover his game and fix the little things on Wednesday morning.

Through seven games this season, Woll is 4-3 but has a sparkling .930 save percentage and 2.30 GAA. He will look to help the Leafs win back-to-back games for the first time in two weeks.
