After swapping William Nylander and Mitch Marner ahead of Tuesday's game, Keefe kept his new top-six line combinations together. The third line of Max Domi, Nick Robertson and Calle Jarnkrok also remained together. The only change to the forward group was on the fourth line. Ryan Reaves played in the Leafs' last three games, but will come out of the lineup tonight in favour of Bobby McMann, who has been waiting patiently to get back in, skating as the Leafs' 13th forward.
On the blueline, Keefe has chosen to give William Lagesson a shot in a top-four role following the injury to Mark Giordano. Lagesson has played surprising well in 12 games with the Leafs so far. He will likely see a sharp increase from his average TOI of 14:30 tonight as Lagesson skated alongside Jake McCabe. Conor Timmins and Simon Benoit were together on the bottom pairing. That means that recently recalled Maxime Lajoie will also be a healthy scratch for tonight's game.
There's a pretty good chance, following the news regarding Mark Giordano's hand injury and Timothy Liljegren's ankle injury, keeping them both out for the foreseeable future, that the Leafs will look to pull off a trade in the not-too-distant future. Obviously, that would lead to some additional roster shuffling if/when that does go down.
