Well, Leafs Nation got its wish on Tuesday when GM Kyle Dubas sent a 3rd round pick to the Canucks in exchange for Schenn, who was absolutely elated to find out that he would he returning to Toronto, where it all started.
Schenn did not make it to Edmonton in time to join the Leafs last night against the Oilers, but he did join the team on Wednesday evening and accompanied them to Calgary for Thursday's game against the Flames. In his first game back as a Leaf in more than a decade, Schenn wasted no time making his presence felt, absolutely pasting Flames forward Jonathan Huberdeau in the first period.
These are the types of hits that Schenn has built a career around. His brand of hockey is tailor made for the playoffs and the 33-year-old is just the type of defenseman that the Buds needed for what we all hope is a long playoff run.
