With 6 new faces, there was some speculation that the Leafs could be finished or close to it. Many believe that there are still moves to be made and one of the believers that the Leafs aren't quite done yet is Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.
During Wednesday's broadcast in between the 2nd and 3rd period, Friedman revealed that one name who could interest the Leafs is Tyler Bertuzzi in Detroit. Friedman revealed that the Leafs' pursuit of Bertuzzi goes back a couple of years now and, while there's no guarantee that the Leafs could pull it off from a financial perspective, he wouldn't be surprised in the least if they tried to make it work.
With 3 new defensemen and 3 new forwards in the fold in Toronto, Kyle Dubas has shown that he's not shy about adding pieces in an attempt to augment his core as best he can for the upcoming playoff run. He certainly has a type this year, seemingly targeting all sorts of feisty competitors. Bertuzzi certainly fits that bill as well.
There's now less than 48 hours remaining until the deadline. We saw the Red Wings move a pretty important piece on Wednesday in 25-year-old defenseman Filip Hronek. Perhaps we'll see Bertuzzi on the move as well - and if we're lucky enough, maybe he'll land with the Leafs.
