The Leafs have undergone a bit of a transformation this summer, having lost a number of players in free agency, including Ryan O'Reilly, Noel Acciari, Luke Schenn and even some of the longer-tenured Leafs in Alex Kerfoot and Justin Holl. With that, though, opportunities are created for new guys to come in and add something a little different to the lineup.

The Leafs were able to add 4 players thus far via free agency in Ryan Reaves, John Klingberg, Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi. Each player brings something the Leafs needed, and well we don't yet know how everything will shake out in terms of their deployment, at least one of the new Leafs is coming in with a very open mind.

Max Domi joined TSN 1050's OverDrive on Friday to discuss a variety of topics - one being how the Leafs may choose to deploy him in the lineup. Domi didn't want to tip his hand as to what his initial conversations with head coach Sheldon Keefe were like, but he did commit to remaining as flexible as possible.

"We'll keep that between me and Keefer. Obviously, he's the coach, so whatever he asks me to do, I'll be fully prepared to do that, whether that's playing wing, center, I'm not necessarily great between the pipes - I think we're good there - but if he needed a goalie, I'd be down to do that too. Whatever he asks me to do, I'm going to do the best of my ability to be the best version of myself in that role." - Domi on where he sees himself playing in the Leafs' lineup

Domi likes to think of himself as a veteran player with a lot of experience in different systems and under different coaches. After kicking off his NHL career in Arizona, Domi has made stops in Montreal, Columbus, Carolina, Chicago and Dallas. Over the years, he has learned a few things that he believes will help him and his teammates in Toronto.

"I've played for a lot of teams, which in some ways is hard. Obviously, moving around quite a bit, largely due to short-term contracts - but the positive of that is getting to play for a lot of different coaches.. I like to thing I've got a lot of experience in this league and I'm looking forward to just bringing that into this locker room and helping out in any way that I can." - Domi on his lived experience with a number of different NHL teams

Count me among those who are extremely excited to see Domi in a Leafs sweater this season. We all know that Max is not his dad, but he does bring a very interesting skill set to the table in terms of his playmaking and he'll also be a lot of fun to watch in the post-whistle scrums. I also can't wait to see what type of response the crowd puts forth when Domi's name is announced for the first time at Scotiabank Arena ahead of the team's home opener in October.
