When it rains, it pours. The Leafs finished their Western Canadian road trip with a 1-2-0 record, losing their final game in embarrassing fashion. With the game tied, the Leafs' top power play unit coughed up not one, but two goals against on the same shift. The Leafs never came back after that, failing to convert on their opportunities.

Perhaps the worst part of Saturday's Leafs/Canucks game was Ryan O'Reilly's injury. The former Conn Smythe Trophy winner was nailed in the hand by a blistering shot off the stick of Auston Matthews, who, ironically, had briefly left the game after being nailed by a shot to the knee at the end of the first period. While Matthews was able to return part-way through the 2nd frame, O'Reilly wasn't as lucky in the third, missing the entire period.

Speaking after the game, Sheldon Keefe said "it's serious enough that he wasn't able to return," but was unable to give members of the media an update. We will have to wait until at least Monday to find out how severe the injury is. Here's hoping when the Leafs face off against the Devils on Tuesday, O'Reilly's tests will have come back negative for any breaks or fractures and he'll be able to play.
