Reinforcements on the way for the Leafs, Sheldon Keefe confirms
While the Leafs were busy outscoring Connor McDavid and Leon Drasaitl last night, newly acquired defenseman Luke Schenn was in Vancouver with his family, awaiting the birth of his third child. Sheldon Keefe confirmed following the Leafs' 7-4 win that Schenn and his wife finally welcomed their new baby into the world on Friday.
Keefe also mentioned that Schenn should be joining the team in Toronto over the next couple of days. The addition of Schenn would further add to the log-jam on the Leafs blueline but it will also give Keefe the opportunity to add more physicality and another defensive defenseman to the mix.
The 5th overall pick in 2008 by the Leafs, Schenn was acquired from Vancouver a couple weeks back for a third round pick as the Leafs prepare for another physical first round matchup against the Lightning.
