For Shane Wright, the 2022-23 season has not been everything he's been hoping that it would be, having been scratched for 11 of 18 games and when he has been in the lineup, he hasn't been getting anywhere near enough ice time.

After spending 5 consecutive games as a healthy scratch, Wright became eligible for a conditioning loan with Seattle's AHL affiliate in Coachella Valley. Well, he wasted no time in making his presence felt in his very first AHL game, showcasing his undeniable skill and excellent touch, scoring an absolute beauty.

The Firebirds ended up losing 5-3 on the road against the Calgary Wranglers, but at least Wright was able to prove that he can be an impact player in the pro ranks. Over the next couple of weeks, I'm sure Wright's highlight reel will become more populated. The kid is too good for the OHL, too good for the AHL and should be playing regular minutes in an impact role for the Seattle Kraken.

The belief is that once Wright's conditioning loan ends, he'll be loaned to Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championship tournament. Following the tournament, he should be right back with the Kraken.
