The Leafs did look like the more dangerous team for most of the game, but couldn't solve Sergei Bobrovsky when they needed to and, as a result, did not pick up the win. Now, for the second straight series, they'll be playing from behind to start out.
Following the home loss last night, Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe touched on what he felt was the difference in the game. Keefe believes that the Leafs were conditioned for a more methodical series against the Lightning and didn't rely so much on their straight line speed and transition - something the Panthers are known for.
It will be up to the coaching staff to now go back to the drawing board and make some alterations to the gameplan ahead of Thursday's Game 2.
