There are only five teams in the NHL that Auston Matthews has not scored against and the New York Rnagers are one of them. Matthews will get the chance to cross them off the list as he will return to the lineup tonight at Madison Square Garden.
A concussion has kept Matthews out of the last six games. The Leafs went 2-4-0 in those games and scored a total of 14 goals, but eight of them came against the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday. Matthews still leads the team with 26 despite missing 10 games this year so his offense will be a welcomed addition.
Zach Hyman scored a pair of goals against the Rangers back on October 7. The Leafs also got goals from Nikita Zaitsev, Nazem Kadri, Leo Komarov, Jake Gardiner, Dominic Moore and Tyler Bozak in an 8-5 victory.
Former Maple Leaf Michael Grabner leads the Rangers with 17 goals. He has nine goals and 14 points in 19 career games versus the Leafs. He has points in 10 of last 11 games versus Toronto, including three multi-point games.
