The Toronto Maple Leafs announced some tough news on Monday. The team has placed forward Auston Matthews on injured reserve and the forward is expected to miss at least four weeks with a shoulder injury. Matthews suffered the injury during the second period of Saturday's game against the Winnipeg Jets during the second period. After Matthews left the ice, he would not return to the game. It's a tough blow for Matthews who missed 10 games last season with a shoulder injury as well, luckily head coach Mike Babcock confirmed on Sunday that it wasn't the same shoulder. More details to come after Monday's practice.
