It's already September, which means training camp is right around the corner for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Both NHL and OHL teams will be holding camps very soon or have already started. The London Knights camp has an interesting omission this year -- Easton Cowan.
According to The Hockey News' Jared Brown, Cowan's sights are fully set on the Leafs camp and making the NHL instead of coming back to London. Cowan is among those who won't attend OHL training camp.
If Nick Robertson continues to hold out, there is an open spot at left wing, which could be Cowan's to lose. He's done nothing but impress since being drafted and has a real shot at making the Leafs this fall. According to Cowan himself, that was always the goal.
We'll find out if Cowan dons the blue and white for good very soon, unless Brad Treliving and Craig Berube have other plans for him.
