Josh Leivo's Agent Comments On Reported Trade Request.
"Over the weekend, Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos made a surprising statement about Toronto Maple Leafs forward Josh Leivo on Hockey Night in Canada's "Headlines" segment. Kypreos stated that Leivo had requested a trade since he's only started in 12 games so far this season. The story blew up so much that Leivo's agent, Ian Pulver, was forced to comment. While he wouldn't speak on the request itself, he did talk about Leivo's love for the Leafs. "Josh is a player who would stand in front of a train for the Toronto Maple Leafs," Pulver said. "Josh was drafted by the Leafs and he wants to be a long-time Leaf. He would love to be in the lineup Monday night, and every night thereafter. Having said that, he hasn't been in the lineup for a long time, and hasn't played much in the past two seasons. He has reached a point in his career where he simply needs to play regularly.
"Lou Lamoriello has had open lines of communication with Josh on this issue. Not unexpectedly, the Maple Leafs in general and Lou in particular have been nothing but first class."If you read between the lines, it seems a trade possibility has come up between Leivo and Leafs management.
