It's no secret, the Toronto Maple Leafs' need some help on the blueline. Those words will ring even harder next season with Tyson Barrie and Cody Ceci gone. However they could have a pretty solid grizzly vet come in and eat up some minutes. The Winnipeg Jets and defenseman Dustin Byfuglien decided to mutually terminate his contract and that makes him eligible to sign with any team for the 2020-21 season. A good fit for the Leafs?Matt Teague of The Score believes it is as he lists the Toronto Maple Leafs' as one of the top landing spots for Byfuglien. "The 6-foot-5 rearguard would immediately become the Leafs' most intimidating presence, and though he isn't the fastest skater, he could also fit the club's offensive blueprint thanks to his savvy awareness in that end. Byfuglien should also appeal to Toronto's analytics-driven approach: His teams have owned the advantage in Corsi For rating, expected goals percentage, and high-danger scoring chances with Byfuglien on the ice at five-on-five during nearly every season of his career."Obviously the only this could work is if Big Buff signs for a very low cap hit and the Leafs' would probably still have to trade some salary. Would you like to see a top defensive pairing of Morgan Rielly and Byfuglien?
