The Toronto Maple Leafs didn't make the big change fans were hoping for, but oddsmakers saw enough to make the Leafs a favourite to win the Atlantic Division.

A new head coach in Craig Berube as well as some major additions to the blueline and between the pipes by Brad Treliving this off-season has put the Maple Leafs in the hunt to win the Atlantic Division, according to oddsmakers.

The defending Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers are the obvious favourites, but the Leafs aren't too far behind them with Bodog having the Leafs to win the division at +275. FanDuel was a little more conservative with their odds, listing the Leafs at +300, but they are still the favourites next to the Panthers.

It comes as a bit of a surprise that the Leafs are ranked ahead of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Boston Bruins, given that the Lighting and Bruins landed some of the biggest fish on the market during free agency, with Jake Guentzel signing in Tampa and the Bruins landing Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov.

If you think the Panthers, Bruins and Bolts will taper off this season, it might be worth a small wager on the Leafs to win the Atlantic. If you're feeling brave, the Leafs are listed at +700 to win the Eastern Conference and +1200 to win the President's Trophy, but if you want to play it safe, the Leafs are listed at -140 to reach 100 or more points during the regular season.

The Leafs have been a very good regular season team in recent years, but as we all know, they tend to struggle in the playoffs -- so the real question is, what're the odds for them to make it past the first round?
