Per Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Winnipeg Jets have swooped in and landed New Jersey Devils winger Tyler Toffoli.
Toffoli, a Scarborough, Ontario native, was believed to be on the Maple Leafs' radar this week, but the interest was significant from a number of teams. Toffoli, being an 8-time 20+ goal scorer, was obviously a hot commodity that generated a lot of interest. Eventually, it was the Jets who prevailed in the bidding war for the 31-year-old winger.
At this point, the return for Toffoli is not known, but the Devils are believed to have landed multiple draft picks from the Jets in exchange for the former LA King, Vancouver Canuck, Montreal Canadien, Calgary Flame and New Jersey Devil.
Toffoli has produced 26 goals and 44 points for the Devils this season in 61 games. He'll certainly help produce some additional scoring for a Devils team who was in need of some secondary scoring before the playoffs.
