On Thursday, the Blackhawks confirmed the worst for Taylor Hall, revealing that he would undergo season-ending knee surgery to repair his right knee.
Hall had been in and out of the lineup all season long, suiting up in just 10 games for the Blackhawks, recording 2 goals and 2 assists. Hall was originally brought in by the Blackhawks this summer to play alongside 2023 1st overall pick Connor Bedard.
Hall recently missed 9 days with an undisclosed injury before coming back to play on November 18th and 19th against Nashville and Buffalo. It was announced yesterday that he would not be in the lineup against the Columbus Blue Jackets last night. Now we know why.
Throughout his career, Hall has dealt with a number of injury issues. Last season, he suited up in just 61 games with the Bruins, accumulating 16 goals and 36 points, a far cry from his 93-point season in 2017-18 - though he did produce 8 points for the Bruins in 7 playoff games against the Panthers this past spring.
Hall has one season remaining on his current contract after 2023-24, signed through 2024-25 at a lofty $6M. All the best to Talyor in his recovery. Tough break in what could have been a bit of a resurgence playing alongside one of the brightest young players in the game.
