The report came out on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast. An anonymous text sent to host Paul Bissonnette detailed the encounter. The clip from the podcast has spread like wildfire on social media, and now is being looked into by the Blue Jackets' front office.
If the report is true, as Bissonnette insists it is, it's proof that Babcock learned absolutely nothing from his mistakes in Detroit and Toronto. If Babcock is pulling this stuff before training camp even starts, it would absolutely be the right move for the Jackets to fire him.
I can't think of any other coach being fired before coaching a single game. If the allegations prove to be true, it's likely that Babcock becomes the first.
