Following this morning's session, Murray took some time to speak with the media to let everyone know where he's at in terms of his recovery and when we might expect to see him return to game action.
Murray revealed that he is still sidelined, but on a day-to-day basis, which is a huge upgrade from where he's been in recent weeks. As far as his LTIR status is concerned, he'll be eligible to be activated as soon as he's cleared to return to action, as he's already missed more than 24 days and 10 games. Murray also revealed that he has no restriction on his movement, which is a huge plus.
Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe liked what he saw today from Murray and as soon as he is cleared, he'll play. Keefe believes that clearance could come as early as Saturday against the Vancouver Canucks.
This is excellent news for the Leafs, who are currently rolling out a tandem of Erik Kallgren and Keith Petruzzelli, the team's 3rd and 5th string goaltenders at the moment. Credit to Kallgren, who has played amicably over the last few games, helping the Leafs to pick up 5 points of a possible 6 in the games against Boston, Carolina and Vegas.
