The Columbus Blue Jackets hosted the Calgary Flames on Friday night, dispatching of the Flames in front of the hometown crowd, skating away with a 3-1 victory.

The tempers were flaring in this one and the fans in attendance didn't have to wait long for the fireworks as Cole Sillinger and Nazem Kadri dropped the mitts and engaged in a back-and-forth scrap during the the midway point of the first period.

Sillinger was the aggressor in this one, landing several unanswered shots on Kadri, who began to swing wildly after his bucket came off, but it was too little too late for the former Leaf as Sillinger had done most of the damage prior to losing his footing and dropping to his knees, with the officials coming in to break it up.

Kadri is off to a rough start this season, managing just one lone assist through his team's first 5 games of the 2023-24 campaign. He's signed through the 2028-29 season at a lofty $7M cap hit. Is this the beginning of the 33-year-old's decline, or can he find his groove and turn his season around? That's the real question here.
