After going 1-2-2 on their five-game, Western road trip, the Leafs have picked up 7 of a possible 8 points over their last 4 games, including beating Carolina and Boston this past weekend in a back-to-back. Last night was the Leafs' third game in four nights and it showed. They were lucky to get a point out of it as defensively they were very sloppy and three of the four goals were from miscues handling the puck.

"Tough stretch with three games in four nights against three elite teams. Five out of six points feels good. We came a long way in this little stretch, but tonight is a sign we still have a ways to go in terms of managing the game, because that should be 6 points. If you want to be an elite team, you need to be elite in managing games," said Keefe following the overtime loss to Vegas.

The Leafs have two days off now to rest and reset before taking on Pittsburgh and Vancouver on Friday and Saturday in another back-to-back. Two teams struggling mightily, so don't mark them as guaranteed wins. If Matt Murray is unavailable for the weekend, expect Keith Petruzzelli to make his NHL debut in one of the two games.
