Nylander had missed Games 1, 2 and 3 with what was being reported as a migraine issue at the time. While we have not received any confirmation one way or another on what the ailment actually was, none of that is important now.
The Leafs have erased a 3-1 deficit in the series, winning the last 2 games on the heels of excellent team performances in a pair of 2-1 victories. Now, facing Game 7 back in Boston, the Leafs will need to bring their A-game once again to avoid an early start to their summer.
Nylander's eventual game-winner last night came at 17:47 of the third period, with the Leafs already leading the game 1-0. After being sprung by Matthew Knies on a brilliant feed to send Nylander in on a breakaway, the kid from Stockholm, Sweden made a beautiful play to open up the 5-hole of Jeremy Swayman before tucking it home.
Nylander's reaction to the goal was absolutely priceless, wearing a classic Nylander smirk before the puck even crossed the goal line.
Obviously, the job isn't done yet, and the Leafs still need to go out and compete in Game 7 in hopes of achieving a similar result. After playing the hero in Game 6, the Leafs will need more of the same from Nylander in Game 7 to help propel them into the 2nd round for a grudge match against Florida.
