The Toronto Maple Leafs will go for their second win in the last 24 hours after beating the New York Islanders Friday night. They will return home to face the Winnipeg Jets, who we have not seen since the Leafs beat them 7-2 on the opening night of the season.
A lot has changed since that meeting on October 4. The Jets have earned 104 points since then while Patrik Laine has established himself as one of the top goal scorers in the league and Connor Hellebyuck has emerged as one of the top young net minders.
Patrick Marleau had a pair of goals in Winnipeg, while James van Riemsdyk and Auston Matthews each had a goal and a pair of assists. The injured Steve Mason started in goal for the Jets and gave up goals on 20 shots before getting pulled early in the third period.
Leo Komarov is a game time decision for tonight's game. If he does dress he will likely take Andreas Johnsson's spot on the fourth line. Curtis McElhinney will get the start in goal.
