Sean Higgins, the drunk driver responsible for taking the lives of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew Gaudreau showed absolutely no remorse during his initial video court hearing.

It's the dominant story in the NHL on Friday, and really the only story that matters, but as you're likely well aware, Columbus Blue Jackets star Johnny Gaudreau, along with his brother Matthew, was struck and killed by Higgins while out cycling the day before their sister's wedding.

Higgins had admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the incident that claimed the lives of the Gaudreau brothers and had reportedly had an open alcohol container in his vehicle when police apprehended him.

The assailant appeared in video court on Friday, but rather than showing any remorse for what he had done, Higgins seemed inconvenienced by the fact that he'd be detained until at least Thursday of next week. It didn't appear he had any real awareness of the gravity of what he had done.

Fans from around the NHL are livid after seeing this clip, with most being left completely flabbergasted by Higgins' reaction and lack of empathy for the victims and their families.

Obviously, more details will continue to trickle in over the coming days, but after seeing this clip, I sincerely hope the New Jersey State Police do not release Higgins next week, and I'm not alone in that thought process.
